It's that time of the year...
When we eat too much and then spend too much (maybe it's just me!) For some, that means finding the best deals, going out at midnight to fight crowds, and for coming home with that adrenaline rush, having completed all of your holiday shopping in 6 hours. For me, the "black" in Black Friday means something different than it does for most, black = darkness AND death. It is the soul-crushing, dream-trampling, "pit of despair" of human experience. I tried it once, I had a panic attack and still suffer from some form of PTSD when I think about it - no, really, my palms are sweaty just typing about it. I rate it as one of my worst experiences EVER.
I much prefer shopping at home, from my computer where I don't have to stand in line, fight crowds, and where no one stands there to tell me that if I want to get to the toy section 5 feet in front of me, I will have to walk to the back of the store, take a left, go to the corner, wait 3 hours to get a specific toy, but that I am not allowed to browse other toys because they were using that section as a line for a TV that they would start selling in 2 hours (they really told me that). While you may still choose to shop in the stores for some of your purchases, please consider supporting our school in all of your online purchases. There are 2 ways to do this. First, if you shop at Amazon (who doesn't?) then click here: SMILE before every shopping session, choose Round Hill Elementary PTA as your chosen charity, and shop away! You must click on the link every time for us to get our higher percentage, but you should only have to choose RHE PTA once!
Here's that link again, just in case:
SMILE
Second, if you are shopping on any other online retailer, check out GoodShop (click the logo below). You will have to register for the site, but they have most major online stores to choose from and some even give us up to 10% on a regular basis. Many have double the donations during the next few weeks. They even have an app so you can shop from your phone or tablet! Just start at the website and click through their links to the stores you want to shop from. Happy Shopping, Everyone!!
